Moissanite began as a genuine rarity. It was first discovered in 1893 by French chemist Henri Moissan inside the crater of a meteorite, in crystals so small and scarce that natural moissanite has never been commercially mined.

Every moissanite used in Jewelery today— is grown in a lab, recreating that same rare crystal structure (silicon carbide) under controlled heat and pressure. The result is a clear, colourless stone that's cut and faceted exactly like a diamond.

It is also chemically close enough to a diamond that standard diamond testers —often register moissanite as a diamond. That's a fair sense of the company it keeps.

Does It Look and Feel Like a Diamond?
